What's New

New tools and small improvements to help everyday routines run more smoothly. Check back here as we add features.

Adult countdown and check-in visibility

The adult countdown is back. The on-track question stays visible, with buttons enabled when a check-in is due. Both devices now detect stalled message delivery and reconnect even when the network connection incorrectly appears healthy. Completed answers and the running session are preserved.

Clearer self-monitor exit tickets

Exit tickets on both devices now summarize match points and separate on-track percentages for the child and adult, based only on completed check-ins. Collected emoji and phrase pills have no timestamps, including hover labels.

A simpler adult screen

The adult’s phone focuses on encouragement and shows rating buttons when a check-in is due. The countdown and timer controls stay on the primary screen. Emoji reactions appear without captions, while encouraging phrases appear in rounded pills. Improved connection recovery helps devices stay paired when switching themes or returning to Run Session.

Short codes and encouragement to keep

Join self-monitor by scanning a short QR link or typing six characters at routines.getadhd.care/join. Pairing starts a ready timer and hides the QR details. Codes expire after 15 minutes.

Emoji encouragement appears in random positions with gentle floating copies. Send “Great comment!”, “Thanks for raising your hand!”, or “Keep up the good work!” Collect encouragement on screen and include it on the exit ticket. Editor controls now have more consistent spacing and wrapping.

Scan to start self-monitor

Choose Two devices to show the adult QR code before starting. Opening it on the adult’s phone connects the devices and starts the timer automatically.

Send a little encouragement

In two-device self-monitor sessions, adults can send a heart, clapping hands, a smile, laughter, a thumbs-up, or a shining star to the child’s screen. Effects are silent and brief, respect reduced-motion settings, and leave the timer and points unchanged. The child can turn emoji encouragement off. The adult sees a confirmation when an effect arrives.

Self-monitor together on two devices

Choose One device to take turns, or Two devices to let the child start on their own screen and invite the adult by QR code. Match the code on both screens and allow the adult to join. Each person rates independently; points update when both have answered. The adult can pause or resume the timer and export or print completed results.

The QR code is compact, with an Enlarge option. Two-device sessions need internet and open screens. Invitations expire after two hours, and live ratings are encrypted before being relayed.

Build, Print, Run Session

Every visual tool now has the same three buttons on the right of its menu. Build edits your board, Print opens its preview, and Run Session launches the activity full screen. Timers start immediately, and paused self-monitor sessions resume with their results intact. Homework planners now have a full-screen session view too.

The File, Edit, View, and Help menu stays at the top as you scroll. Print options still include homework orientation choices and self-monitoring cards and exit tickets.

A simpler way to create and save

A familiar File menu brings together New, Open, Save, Save as, Import, Export, Share, offline copies, and Print. Save updates your current copy; Save as creates a new one on this device or in the cloud. See unsaved changes and your save location beside the board name.

Open brings examples, existing device saves, and your cloud boards into one library with previews, rename, duplicate, and delete actions. Content, Appearance, and Layout options keep editing focused, while Run session stays easy to reach. Find offline setup under File and installation instructions under Help.

Take your tools offline

Prepare your visuals before heading into a classroom, traveling, or working somewhere without Wi-Fi.

Cloud accounts and new picture searches still need internet. Some fonts may use a fallback. If a picture cannot download, the site shows a warning. Export important boards as backups because clearing browser storage removes offline copies.

Two free cloud boards

Create a free adult account to save two reusable boards total across all visual tools and open them across devices. Choose the black cloud icon in the top-right corner—it turns blue on hover—or visit My cloud boards. Review your board and confirm that it contains no personal information before each cloud save. Cloud copies contain settings only; session results stay on your device. Local saving and exports remain available. Cloud access now lives in the header, keeping the navigation pane focused on your visual tools.

Nine new self-monitor themes

Choose Classroom, Autumn, Halloween, Winter, Tropical, 80s, Valentine, St. Patrick’s, or City. Each projection theme includes matching point icons and a distinct background, with gentle motion where appropriate and reduced-motion support.

Four more self-monitor themes

Try Garden with flowers and drifting petals, Unicorn with pastel clouds and unicorns, Chef with warm café colors and burgers, or Scientist with rising bubbles and beakers. Projection effects respect reduced-motion settings.

A new self-monitor timer

Use the Self-monitor timer for work sessions up to 90 minutes. Choose equal or random check-ins, a custom question, and points for student/adult ratings. Smile icons show full and half points. Ocean now has gentle waves in projection mode. Forest clouds use filled Material Cloud icons, Space stars twinkle independently, and optional chimes distinguish student and adult prompts. Sessions now survive navigation and reloads in the same tab, preserving responses and stopping at the next unanswered check-in. Project full screen, choose animated projection scenes with themed point icons or a custom-color Classic theme, hide only the timer numbers, save or share setups, and print a student check-in card or an exit ticket with the period’s responses and points.

Plan your homework week

The new Homework planner offers simple Yes/No boxes or detailed daily assignments with Done checkboxes. Choose a weekly or single-day view, choose ARASAAC subject pictures, include weekends, and save, share, or print your plan in portrait or landscape with a QR code back to the site. New planners start with a blank single day. Printed weekday headings include dates when a week is selected, single-day printouts include gray writing grids, and the Reading, Math, and Writing example is ready to load. Switching versions preserves both sets of entries.

Fullscreen sessions for every board

Use Run session on First–Then, Task Strip, Now–Next–Later, Choice, Calm-down, and Chore Chart pages. Step-by-step boards unlock one step at a time; choice boards let you select any option. Chore sessions show one day at a time. Reset and Exit stay available, and progress carries back to the editor for saving.

Ready-made animated token boards

Start with Space, Critters, Clay — Games, or Clay — Relax in the token board’s Example menu. Each starts with zero tokens earned. Confetti now matches your theme, 12 more Google Fonts expand your choices, and softer musical chimes celebrate tokens and completed boards. Try the new Preview sound button.

More pictures, easier searching

Token boards now include PixaBots pixel characters, with animation during sessions and still pictures for printing. Search any activity or object across ARASAAC, Material Symbols, and OpenMoji together, regardless of the browse category.

Token-board sessions come to life

Run your token board fullscreen, celebrate each earned token with confetti, and enjoy a bigger celebration when the board is complete. Choose Classic, Ocean, Space, Garden, Arcade, or Boho to set the fonts and colors.

Explore 12 DiceBear styles, including planets, adventurers, critters, clay characters, and voxel art. Styles with built-in animation move during sessions; printed boards stay still. Turn off animations and confetti whenever you prefer.

A token board that feels like yours

Build a personalized token board with 1–12 tokens and a chosen reward. Mix activity pictures from ARASAAC, Material Symbols, colorful OpenMoji emoji, and DiceBear robot characters generated on your device.

Tap to award tokens during a session, optionally turn on celebration sounds, or print the board with separate cut-out token sets. Save progress, export a backup, and share a board with import instructions. Picture credits travel with your printouts.
